«The IMF and the U.S. government has no choice until, until we’re sure who will be our partner on the other side of the table,» — she said at a hearing in the United States Senate Committee on the theme: «Ukrainian reforms — two years after the revolution on the Maidan and the Russian invasion».

Nuland also reminded about old problems in Ukraine — corruption and shady politics.

«We continue to believe that 2016 should be the year when Ukraine will be freed from the unholy Union of dirty money and dirty politicians who robs Ukrainians too for a long time,» said the U.S. assistant Secretary of state.

The four-year program of financial assistance to Ukraine was approved by the IMF Board on March 11, 2015. It provides for the allocation of Fund 17.5 billion dollars, and all international creditors over four years — $ 40 billion.

In March 2015, was transferred the first tranche of 5 billion dollars, in August — the second tranche of 1.7 billion. Now Kyiv expects the allocation of the third tranche, also with a volume of 1.7 billion dollars.
